The 7 Secrets For Quitting Smoking Now

A lot of people are thinking about stopping smoking these days.  A lot will continue thinking about smoking cessation for a long, long time.  Why do some people simply quit while others continue to think about doing it?

Those who delay or avoid smoking cessation think they are going to lose something, or many things, that they believe are important to them... Read More

Must You Gain Weight When You Quit Smoking?

When potential hypnosis clients call for information on my specialty, smoking cessation, the second thing they say is “I don’t want to gain weight!”  (The first is usually “hello,” but some move right into the weight question.)

Many women originally took up smoking as a way to lose weight.  They were successful, at least partially.  After the initial novelty wore off, and the years rolled by, a lot of them gained weight anyway.

And the most observant noticed something interesting… Read More

Quitting Your Smoking Habit?  Here’s Extra Help

It’s my opinion, based on experience, that the most enduring and harmless aid to smoking cessation is still hypnosis.  Many will tell you that it has the highest rate of success. And even if hypnosis were only in second place, it has strong benefits:  it involves no drugs, no acupuncture, and no lasers, and is usually relaxing.

That alone makes it worth considering.

Don’t Get Hypnotized Till You Read This!

Hypnosis and hypnotherapy are all the rage these days, and there’s a reason for it. A few years ago, we heard only about small-town stage hypnotists doing college events.  Today hip and sexy Criss Angel includes hypnosis in some of his slickly-produced and impressive shows, on national TV no less... Read More

How Not To Choose A Hypnotist (Or Hypnotherapist)

First let me say that “hypnotist” and “hypnotherapist” are used interchangeably here as they are in conversation today.  In the past, people said “hypnotist” when they were speaking of someone who gave stage shows, and “hypnotherapist” when they meant someone who could help you stop smoking, lose weight, or love public speaking.

These days, many of us do not make these distinctions.  So when you meet someone who hypnotizes people, simply ask if he or she does what you need done.

That, of course, is job one in getting a competent practitioner.

But what shouldn’t you do?... Read More

When You Absolutely Should Not Use Hypnosis

I’m not only a big fan of hypnotism, I’m a practitioner.  I have been amazed at the great things hypnosis can do for clients.  As a result of hypnosis, I’ve seen people walk away from hurtful relationships and find a wonderful person just around the corner.

I’ve watched clients lose impressive amounts of weight, ready themselves for the Chicago Marathon, lower test anxiety and perform beautifully, give up a 30-year smoking habit in a single session, and lots more.  But there are times when you absolutely should not use hypnosis to solve a problem, on yourself or someone else...
